Kvikmyndamiðstöð Íslands kynnir Nordic Ecological Standard (NES) – nýja samnorræna sjálfbærnistaðla fyrir kvikmynda- og sjónvarpsframleiðslu – í Bíó Paradís 27. maí, klukkan 13:00.
Staðlarnir verða kynntir formlega á öllum Norðurlöndunum síðar í sumar og fer þá í loftið vefur með ítarlegum upplýsingum og eyðublöðum.
Markmiðið að draga verulega úr umhverfisáhrifum framleiðslu.
Staðlarnir verða innleiddir frá og með árinu 2026 og þá verður öllum kvikmynda- og sjónvarpsverkefnum sem fá styrk frá opinberum kvikmyndastofnunum á Norðurlöndunum skylt að uppfylla kröfur NES. Á síðari hluta ársins 2025 er stefnt að prufukeyrslu staðlanna í samstarfi við framleiðendur.
NES er byggt á þýskum sjálfbærnistöðlum sem innleiddir voru árið 2023 og hafa verið sérsniðnir að norrænum aðstæðum í samstarfi kvikmyndastofnana allra Norðurlandanna. Markmiðið með innleiðingu NES er að draga verulega úr umhverfisáhrifum í kvikmynda- og sjónvarpsframleiðslu á Norðurlöndunum, styðja við innleiðingu umhverfisvænna starfshátta og efla samkeppnishæfni og sjálfbærni greinarinnar til framtíðar.
Fjallað um sjálfbærni út frá íslenskum aðstæðum
Á kynningarfundinum verða staðlarnir kynntir, aðdragandi þeirra og þróunarferli, rætt um framkvæmd, kröfur og eftirfylgni, og veitt svör við spurningum úr sal.
Fulltrúar USE-SEE, ráðgjafarfyrirtækis á sviði sjálfbærni, munu einnig taka þátt í kynningunni. Þær munu fjalla um sjálfbærni í kvikmyndagerð út frá íslenskum aðstæðum og kynna kolefnisreiknivél Green Producers Club.

Introduction of joint Nordic sustainability standards for film and television production.
The Icelandic Film Institute will present the Nordic Ecological Standard (NES) – a new joint Nordic sustainability standard for film and television production – at Bíó Paradís on May 27, at 1:00 PM.
The standards will be formally introduced in all Nordic countries later this summer, and a website with detailed information and forms will be launched at that time.
The aim is to significantly reduce the environmental impact of production.
The standards will be implemented from 2026, and then all film and television projects that receive funding from public film institutions in the Nordic countries will be required to meet the NES requirements. In the second half of 2025, the aim is to test the standards in collaboration with producers.
NES is based on German sustainability standards that were introduced in 2023 and have been tailored to the Nordic context in collaboration with film institutes from all Nordic countries. The aim of implementing NES is to significantly reduce the environmental impact of film and television production in the Nordic countries, support the implementation of environmentally friendly practices and strengthen the competitiveness and sustainability of the industry for the future.
Discussing sustainability from an Icelandic perspective
The introductory meeting will introduce the standards, their background and development process, discuss implementation, requirements and follow-up, and provide answers to questions from the audience.
Representatives of USE-SEE, a sustainability consultancy, will also participate in the presentation. They will discuss sustainability in filmmaking from an Icelandic perspective and introduce the Green Producers Club carbon calculator.
